When was the cabin built?

The exterior and main level was completed in February of 2023. Lower level finishing, decorating and exterior landscape work is continuing into May of 2023. The cabin is available to book now with the first booking dates available being July 1 2023.

Do we need four-wheel drive to reach the cabin?

While four-wheel drive is always nice in Hocking County, Guests do not need four wheel drive to reach the cabin. We are fortunate to have a driveway which is not overly steep. However, the drive into Scout's retreat is a 1/4 mile long gravel drive into the woods. Please expect a long gravel driveway into the woods to arrive at the cabin. The driveway will have some imperfections. Any type of a lowered vehicle would not do well reaching the cabin.

Do the barn-doors on the front of the cabin slide?

The barn doors are on sliders and can slide. However, we have them bolted to the face of the cabin so they are fixed in place and do not move.
